Our first stop this winter season was sharing Empowerment Coats with the Lorain County 'Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness' (PATH) program, followed by outreach downtown with our good friend Jim S. from Care Alliance Health Center / The Metanoia Project, and last night we were excited to make the final stop of the season as part of an outreach trip with the great group from The Sub Zero Mission!
We were grateful to be able to share the remainder of this year's donations of the Empowerment Coats to those in need, plus a number of other items.
This trip's donations included:
--------------------------------------
7 Empowerment Coats from The Empowerment Plan
40 Hand warmers
3 Ground mats / sleeping pad combos + 2 extra sleeping pads
20 winter shoe inserts (see: http://bit.ly/2iqORcY)
5 orange Mylar sleeping bags
During the outreach last night, the team donated Empowerment coats to 3 people and also shared other warming items, such as gloves, hand warmers, food, and socks.
While visiting a long-term homeless gentleman we've known for some time, Frederico, we had an unexpected visit from our friend Jim S. who stopped by the area with a group of volunteers from St. Edwards High School, who participate in a weekly outreach program. Great to see them all.
Thank you again to all of those whose donations helped many in need stay warmer this winter! Please know that your kind donations make a HUGE difference in the lives of those receiving them!
