METANOIA PROJECT OPEN HOUSE & THRIVENT WINTER CARE PACKAGES

Tonight we attended The Metanoia Project‘s Open House in downtown Cleveland. It was a great opportunity to see in-person what wonderful services this group offers to those in need each winter right here in our city, as they celebrate their 10th year of operation.

It was also a real pleasure to meet and get to talk with Megan Crow, the Executive Director, and Carl Cook, the Program Manager, tonight as well. You can tell talking with them and others that they both love what they do & work tirelessly to support their mission. Thank you to both for them for saying hello and chatting w/ us this evening.

We were also very thankful to Thrivent Financial for their awesome Action Team program (http://bit.ly/1zHEe3l), which supports members in filling an unmet need in their community through service. Thanks to this program, we were able to share a great experience with our daughter this year as part of the action team, who helped put together approx. 60 winter warmth care packages for the homeless. What a blessing to see her excitement in helping others, and for us to be able to share that experience with her.

Each package contained a new winter hat, gloves, thermal socks, and two pairs of hand warmers. We were excited to be able to donate these tonight to the Metanoia Project, to share as graduation gifts for those who participate in their “Courage to Change” program.
