Today we enjoyed meeting Kevin at his grandma’s house. Kevin sleeps outside between a bar and another building. He had a few blankets to try & keep himself warm with. So this morning, we went to Walmart and picked him up a tent, 10F winter mummy-style sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and shared a box of hand warmers a kind supporter of the WWM donated a while back.
Kevin is only 34, but has had a rough last year. He lost his wife one year ago, has had a very brief stint in jail for a misdemeanor, has lost a job, and been in & out of rehab and a state hospital. Thankfully he still has communications & relationships with his mom & grandma to ground him. It really was a pleasure to hear his stories, be a listening ear, and to provide some much needed warmth for him for the coming months.
