Last night we joined our good friends at The Sub Zero Mission for homeless outreach in Lorain OH. To say it was “cold” out would be an understatement. Below zero windchills. It’s brutal. After a few minutes outside, your skin starts to turn red due to the exposure.
On our trip we met Matt, a young guy in his early 30s, for probably the 3rd or 4th year in a row. He lives under a bridge there. Honestly, it’s a miracle he is still alive. Only wearing essentially a sweatshirt / hoodie, it’s hard to imagine how he has made it this long. Often resistant to accepting donations, the team encouraged him to accept a coat, sleeping bag, and some hand warmers. Thanks to your generosity, we were also able to donate 6 pop-up tents and 2 winter sleeping bags to the team effort last night.
