Are all of the items you give out new?
While many often are, some like the Military Surplus items we hand out, are in “Used” but good condition. It’s important to us to ensure we give out high quality items, while at the same time try to get the most for the donation dollar that we are thankful to receive. We also look to get bulk discount rates whenever possible.
Why do you work with homeless outreach teams?
Not only do the warming items benefit the homeless in need who receive them, but working with a homeless outreach team to distribute them helps as well, as one of our contacts noted “… these items are good for more than just helping the clients out with things they desperately need, it also helps us build a rapport with these clients as to better serve them and help them become more willing to let us help them. It’s a win-win.”
