OUTREACH IN DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND

Today we were thankful to join our good friend Jim from Care Alliance Health Center / The Metanoia Project on outreach in downtown Cleveland! We were excited to share part of this year’s donations of the Empowerment Coats to those in need, plus a number of other items.

Today’s list included:
—————————
7 Empowerment Coats from The Empowerment Plan
40 Hand warmers
4 Ground mats / sleeping pad combos + 2 extra sleeping pads
20 winter shoe inserts (see: http://bit.ly/2iqORcY)
5 orange Mylar sleeping bags
8 balaclavas (face / neck scarfs)
8 hot water bottles
1 wool blend blanket

We also spent some time with 2 homeless gentlemen in need. The first, Mike, a long-term homeless man who we have shared supplies with in the past. He is still doing well.

We also met Bill, a 74-year old man. We found Bill today sitting on the warming grates across from Progressive Field. His backpack was stolen last night, which included his keys & ID. Thanks to Jim & Paul (another volunteer) we used the morning to get Bill a new set of keys to his new permanent housing apartment and also took him to the BMV to get a new State ID.

Great day overall. Thank you again to those whose donations helped those in need today. Please know your kind donations will make a big difference in the lives of those receiving them!
