Today we had the privilege of meeting Dennis. He was pushing his shopping cart full of personal items in a shopping plaza here in Medina. We stopped to talk to him for a while and to see if he needed anything.
Dennis shared with us some stories. How he has been homeless 11 years. How his faith in God carries him each day. How even though he has just enough money from Social Security to cover rent of $500 / month, the landlord wanted him to have more income than that in order to accept his application.
One thing Dennis reminded us of today, was in that in the almost 10 years of helping the homeless, how we are constantly surprised to meet such caring and gentle spirits, and Dennis is definitely one of them.
Before leaving, we shared with him an item and our contact info. Letting him know that if he ever needs anything to stay dry this summer, or to stay warm this winter, to contact us and we’ll be there to get him whatever he needs.
