HOMELESS OUTREACH IN DOWNTOWN CLE

Today we were excited and thankful to be able to join Care Alliance and share your donations with those in need downtown! What a rewarding trip.

Today’s donations included: 12 military winter-grade sleeping bags, 138 pairs of socks, 110 hand warmers, 11 coats & layers, 2 scarves, and 1 hat.

On our journey today the team met and shared food and clothing donations with:

– Charles, who was living under a bridge and needed a tent, so we set one up for him 🙂
– Federico, who was 75 and from Sicily, who has been homeless 30 years. We took him by request to get coffee at Phoenix coffee downtown
– Melvin, who lived in an encampment by a river
– Tony and Elizabeth, who lived in a small tent city of 10 tents
– Anthony and Teddy, who lived under a bridge downtown
– Franklin, who carried his belongings in a rolling office chair
– Dwayne, who was living in the woods
– Ken, who’s living near a railroad track, has been homeless 15 years, and communicates only by using a writing pad
– And Jules, who lives in a tent that’s placed over a heated grate to keep it warm
