We like to try out the products we donate whenever possible and the new sleeping system this year was at the top of our list.
Here’s how it did, on a cold night in March of this year (and why we love donating them):
Outside temperature: 10F
Temp inside bag: [After 1 hr] 86F
Temp inside bag: [After 7.5 hrs] 75F
Results … Warm all throughout the night, including feet & hands. No gloves needed inside. Only socks used. Very comfortable sleeping bag material. (Note: Also easy to unzip one of the two sleeping bags inside to cool down if desired).
Lesson learned … Breathing in cold air overnight made for irritated lungs the next day or so. Thus, we are also including a face scarf in our “survival kit” to protect against breathing in cold air.
